Training Seminarians and Church Interns

Training Church Interns

RobbinsNest facilitates bi-monthly meetings for the James  L. Stamps Foundation's Intern Program.  These meetings aim to (1) focus and expand the interns' vision of what Christian leadership is and how God develops leaders in His kingdom, (2) build up the interns' intention to embrace and proceed on the road of transformation that God sets before them, and (3) provide the interns with the means of understanding their own unique leadership development and direction.

Providing Resources and a Library

Pastor Retreats - Philippines

Dr. Steve Robbins has written two books designed to encourage pastors in their spiritual formation and to provide a resource for them to use while training their leadership.

TRANSFORMING HABITS: Spiritual Guidance through the Sermon on the Mount

Human activity, both good and bad, cannot be explained merely by DNA and brain chemistry. Though disappearing in our modern world, moral knowledge is accessible. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches how to be a truly good person. With moral authority He describes the good life and gives direction to our will. Transforming Habits presents an accessible and straightforward study of the Sermon on the Mount. Each chapter addresses one of Jesus’ preaching points and ends with a “Sermon Application”—questions to ponder and “transforming habits” (i.e., spiritual disciplines) to practice. Designed to help you live as God intends, this study (1) focuses and expands your vision of what life looks like in His immediately available kingdom, (2) builds your intention to live with Him as a disciple of Jesus, and (3) provides you with useful means to do this in everyday life. Whether you read it on your own or in a small group, this study of the Sermon on the Mount provides spiritual guidance for your journey on the road of transformation—to God’s glory and your joy!

Transforming Beliefs

Transforming Beliefs presents an accessible and straightforward study of the Apostles’ Creed. Each chapter addresses one of the affirmations in this statement of faith and concludes with a set of questions and exercises. Designed to help you advance in Christian spiritual formation, this study (1) focuses and expands your vision of who God is and what life looks like in His immediately available kingdom, (2) builds your intention to love God and neighbor in everyday life, and (3) provides you with useful means to do this on your spiritual pilgrimage. Whether you read it on your own or in a small group, this study of the Apostles’ Creed provides spiritual guidance for your journey on the road of transformation.

Library

The RobbinsNest library is a quiet place where pastors and Christian leaders can go to study and to escape “office” distractions. The library is located at Rivera First Baptist Church (9141 Burke Street, Pico Rivera, CA 90660).
